Occupants arrest two more Crimean Tatars

March 6, 2024

The Kyiv District «court» in the occupied Crimea imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention until May 4, 2024 on Ali Mamutov and  until May 5 on Nariman Ametov.

As for Remzi Kurtnezirov, the court ruled to impose a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest until May 4. Since he has a number of very serious illnesses, which are included in the list of diseases that prevent him from being held in custody.

Let us remind that on March 5, early in the morning, the Russian occupiers in Bakhchisaray and in  Dzhankoy districts of the occupied Crimea conducted massive searches in 10 houses of Crimean Tatars. All of them are charged under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation («Organization of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization»).

On March 5, Memet Lumanov, Aziz Azizov, Mustafa Abduramanov and Rustem Osmanov were also arrested until May 4.

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center strongly condemns these illegal actions of Russian security forces. Such a policy of the Russian Federation is a demonstration of the fight against freedom of speech and belief, as well as religious and political beliefs of people in the occupied Crimea.
