NATO in the media of the occupied Crimea: Ukraine will never see NATO as its own ears

July 12, 2023

Ukraine will not see NATO as its own ears, said the so-called military expert Aleksey Leonkov. Members of the Alliance, he said, changed their shoes in the air after Biden’s words that Ukraine would not be allowed to join NATO this year.

“No one wants to fight for Ukraine with such results that it demonstrates on the battlefield. Even Poland and Romania have gone back”,- the expert noted, the Crimean News Feed reports.

Russian propaganda in the media of the temporarily occupied Crimea is trying to wishful thinking. In fact, all the leaders of the NATO countries agreed that Ukraine would become a member of the Alliance, and at the NATO summit in Vilnius they only confirmed their position.

Indeed, NATO did not provide a deadline for Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance, but the Summit communique clearly states that this will happen even without a procedure (MAP), which gives reason to talk about accelerating Ukraine’s entry into the Alliance. “…We reaffirm the commitment we made at the 2008 Bucharest Summit for Ukraine to become a member of NATO, and today we acknowledge that Ukraine’s path to membership has gone beyond the need to implement the Membership Action Plan…”

Regarding the desire to fight for Ukraine: NATO is a defensive Alliance, and it never intended to become a party to the conflict! NATO supports Ukraine’s right to self-defence, enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the right to choose its own security measures, regardless of the pace of the Ukrainian counter-offensive or its current results.

Recall that the Crimean Tatar Resource Center continues the column NATO in the media of the occupied Crimea, which aims to track fake information in the temporarily occupied Crimea about the values, goals and current activities of NATO and refute this information.

Friends, how do you like this fake? Would you believe?
