On Tuesday, September 12, Deputy Chairman of SSEPFC Ihor Losovskyy and his team met with representatives of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, including Chairman of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov and Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis Eskender Bariiev.
The meeting participants drew attention to two important issues:
— creation of a working group on the issues of spelling the Crimean Tatar language using the alphabet of this language based on Latin script
— adoption by the Government of Ukraine of a draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on securing the legal status of the representative body of the indigenous people of Ukraine to the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people
In particular, by the end of September next year, the SEFC, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, must develop a project that will be considered by the National Commission on the Crimean Tatar Language and submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers. The issue of creating a working group to implement this issue in the future was also discussed.
Working issues were discussed between SEFC and the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people on securing the legal status of the representative body of the indigenous people of Ukraine for Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.
