Meeting of the delegations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia took place in Latvia

On Wednesday, October 23, a meeting of the delegations of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia
with the participation of members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar
People took place on the occasion of the III Parliamentary Summit of
the International Crimea Platform.

In particular, Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean
Tatar Resource Center, member of  Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar
People, joined the meeting.

As a result of the meeting of the delegations, as noted on the VRU
website, a joint statement of the chairmen of both parliaments was
adopted, in which the parties:

• reaffirmed their unwavering support for the sovereignty and
territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized
borders;

• expressed support for the Ukrainian peace formula as the only
realistic plan for achieving a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine
and on the European continent;

• сalled on partners supplying weapons to Ukraine to lift any
restrictions on their use for legitimate military purposes in the
territory of the Russian Federation;

• supported the Victory Plan of Ukraine, presented on October 16, 2024,
by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Verkhovna Rada of
Ukraine, and called on parliaments and governments of other countries
to support the Victory Plan;

• emphasized the irreversibility of Ukraine’s course towards
Euro-Atlantic integration, which should culminate in Ukraine’s full
membership in NATO.
