The number of political prisoners in the occupied Crimea has increased since the beginning of the full-scale invasion – Podvorniak

Tetiana Podvorniak, Communications Manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, said on the Hromadske Radio that the number of political prisoners in Crimea has increased since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

“According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, 285 political prisoners have been recorded, including 194 representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Political prisoners are divided into several categories. Among them, 128 serve their sentences in colonies, 39 in pre-trial detention facilities, 37 have restrictions or on  probation, and 32 are being persecuted,” Podvorniak said.

In addition, Tetiana Podvorniak described in detail the Analysis of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea for the first quarter of 2023, which the CTRC presented last week
