Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, told in an interview with the Hromadske Radio, about the Taking Care about IDPs chat-bot, which has incorporated all the necessary information for internally displaced persons, including indigenous peoples and national minorities of Ukraine.
We have faced these problems directly, when people are forced to leave their homes and find themselves in new places. How can they not only solve social issues, but also preserve their identity? Then we thought that we need to not only document violations of their rights and war crimes against them, but also do something to help these people. That’s how we came up with the idea of creating the chatbot,” Bariiev said.
The expert noted that Ukraine is home to many people with different religious views and ethnic identities.
“When we talk about diversity in our country, we also need to talk about how we ensure that their rights are respected and contribute to the preservation and protection of Ukraine’s ethnic diversity,” Bariiev concluded.
