The occupiers on the peninsula are using mining tactics. Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the CTRC, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, told Channel 24 about that.
The Russians want to stop the work of the Crimean Titan plant, which is located in occupied Armiansk. To do this, they are mining the territory.
Eskender Bariiev explained that all fields in the Krasnoperekopsk district are currently mined. In this way, the occupiers are trying to prevent the AFU from entering the territory.
Regarding the Crimean Titan plant, one of its most important components is the fresh water lagoons. They are the only way the plant can function.
“Crimean Titan’ is a titanium product manufacturing company with facilities in Armiansk in the temporarily occupied Crimea. It is considered the largest producer of titanium dioxide in Eastern Europe. In 2018, there was a chemical accident at Crimean Titan because they used salt water,” he added.
“I can confirm that they most likely mined the lagoons because they are shallow and not a barrier for the infantry,” he said.
