Occupants in Crimea mine territory and actively dig trenches – Barieev

Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, the Head of the Department for Legal and Foreign Affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, said that the occupiers in Crimea were mining the territory and actively digging trenches in an interview with Focus magazine

“We have received information from our sources that they are digging trenches not only along the coast, but also along the perimeter of settlements. For example, near the villages of Nekrasovka and Dmytrivka in the Soviet district. And not only that. We also received information that Russians are burying mines in the Krasnoperekopsk district, in the steppes. They are also digging trenches closer to Arabatska Strelka and Chongar, in the Genichesk district, that is, along the Azov Sea. But because the soil there is very wet, they are constructing wooden structures,” he says.

Moreover, the construction business in Crimea has virtually stopped because all the equipment is involved in the preparation of fortifications in the west and north of the peninsula, as well as along the North Crimean Canal.

There are also many Russian military forces in Crimea, including Wagnerians in public places.

“To boost morale, the head of the so-called republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, personally travelled to the zone of the special military operation and personally awarded Crimeans. At the same time, Aksenov is making critical statements to the Russian Defense Ministry, saying that there are not enough weapons at the front. He is trying to create a Crimean PMC (Private Military Companies). We heard that they are working on it together with Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Russian businessman and organizer of the Wagner PMC,” the expert said.
