Liudmyla Korotkykh, Manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, spoke about the illegal persecution of pro-Ukrainian activists in the occupied Crimea during the information project Suspilne. Sprotyv (eng. – Suspilne. Resistance).
“As for the new tools, the occupiers are using them widely. We can point out that the persecution practice for participation in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion, which in fact does not exist in the Ukrainian legal system, has intensified,” Liudmyla told.
Korotkykh also recalled new raids by Russian security forces on Crimean Tatar homes in occupied Crimea over the past two weeks. The so-called “trigger” was bombing the railway near Bakhchysarai on February 23, 2023.
“There is information about seven such raids. It is interesting to note, they were all conducted only in the indigenous Crimean Tatars’ homes,” Liudmyla told.
