Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, told the News Channel 24 about the situation with water in Crimea and the risk of provocations at the Crimean Titan plant.
“Firstly, if the Russians blew up the Kakhovka HPP, it means that they will not stay in Crimea for a long time. The water level in the North Crimean Canal has dropped by 5-15 cm, there were water cut-offs in some areas of Crimea and large cities such as Simferopol, Yevpatoriia, Feodosiia, Kerch, and the water that comes to the taps of Crimean residents is really muddy,” the expert said.
Eskender Bariiev also expressed his concern about the threat of provocations at the Crimean Titan plant:
“If we are talking about the Crimean Titan plant, we are talking about a chemical plant in the north of Crimea. The occupiers may use various types of provocations to stop the AFU counteroffensive. There is accurate information that the occupiers have mined the fields of Krasnoperekopsk district and, in particular, the plant’s lagoons. So now we can say that the area around the plant is mined. We can expect anything from the occupiers. We witnessed their withdrawal from the occupied Ukrainian territories, where they tried to destroy everything. We can also see what they did to Kakhovka HPP,” Bariiev stressed.
