Communications Manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Tetiana Podvorniak in an interview with Suspilne media agency spoke about the repressions of the Russian Federation in the occupied Crimea and in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“Systematic detentions, searches and arrests are being carried out in the occupied Crimea. They scare people. A similar practice is used in the new occupied territories, but in an even more brutal form, when armed people illegally break into housing, use physical force, take away money and valuables, gadgets, as well as cars, and people can be taken to places for interrogation and torture”,- said the manager of the CTRC.

Tetiana Podvorniak noted that an important component of the work of the CTRC is the recording of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea, as well as in the new occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“So, during the period of full-scale war in Ukraine, as of May 17, we recorded at least 142 cases of detention, 22 against representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, 5 arrests of representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, at least 14 searches in the homes of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, and also 19 cases of murder”,- she added.
