The problem with coronavirus in Crimea is very urgent – Bariiev

January 19, 2022

Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the Department of Legal and Foreign Affairs of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Crimea.Realities, commented on the strengthening of restrictions aimed at combating the coronavirus pandemic in the occupied Crimea.

Earlier, the so-called head of the occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, decided not to show QR codes about vaccination in public places until January 20, that is, there were no restrictions on the peninsula during the New Year holidays. But in the end, QR codes returned three days earlier than announced – on January 17th.

“Aksenov’s decision to return QR codes says that the problem with coronavirus in Crimea is very urgent and there is an increase in the incidence. We, unfortunately, hear about the deaths of our compatriots (from the coronavirus). We see a trend in the spread of omicron around the world, and this problem will also affect Crimea”,- Bariiev said.

The expert does not see the logic in the fact that since the end of December 2021 everyone has been relaxed and QR codes have been canceled in Crimea.

“Why was it possible to admit that the increase in the incidence began again? I see a serious problem in the fact that QR codes have been canceled for the holidays, when people go to various events. If restrictions were introduced, they should have adhered to them as much as possible”,- he added.
