The head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the legal and foreign affairs department of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with UA: Crimea, said that all laws related to the preservation of the identity of Ukrainians and indigenous peoples destroy the ideology of the Russian world.
“The Russian Federation is very much concerned about the laws of Ukraine “On Languages”, “On Education” and “On Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine”. All these three laws are related to the preservation and development of the identity of Ukrainians and the indigenous peoples of the state. Moreover, these laws destroy the ideology of the Russian world,” he stressed.
Bariiev explained that, speaking about the law On Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine, those respective groups are already clearly identified. Russians are now a national minority. Accordingly, they have no direct relation to the occupied Crimea, Kyiv and Ukraine as a whole.
“Naturally, such steps by Ukraine of the Russian Federation are very annoying. One can only remember the reaction of Russia and, in particular, President Vladimir Putin to the adoption of the law On Indigenous Peoples”,- added the Head of the Board of the CTRC.
