Russia began detaining children of Crimean Tatars – Bariiev

November 26, 2021

Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the legal  and foreign affairs department of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Apostrophe TV, said that the Russian Federation is intensifying its repression against the Crimean Tatars, because now it is detaining children as well.

“The Russian Federation does not stop. The occupier continues to detain Crimean Tatar activists. The height of cynicism was the last case on November 23rd. When people with balloons and a cake came to the detention center building, where lawyer Edem Semedliaiev was illegally detained, they were detained. They detained 31 activists, including journalists, women and even children. 16-year-old Amar Abdulgaziev and 14-year-old Meriem Kulametova experienced great stress”,- he said.

Bariiev believes that it is important for Ukraine to maintain communication with the Crimeans. Ukraine must support them. After all, it is very important to keep pro-Ukrainian citizens in Crimea for the speedy de-occupation.
