Kremlin views Crimea with political overtones – Bariiev

July 23, 2021

Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, said in an interview with the Crimea.Realities media agency that the Russian Federation would not close Crimea because of the coronavirus, since the occupants would not want to admit that COVID-19 was raging there.

“The Kremlin views Crimea with political overtones. That is, the closure of Crimea will mean that a medical service has not been effectively organized in the occupied territory to treat residents and prevent the spread of diseases. Therefore, unambiguously, they will not close Crimea even with the growing dynamics of mortality”,- the expert said.

Bariiev explained that the invaders will not admit that it is in the Crimea that the COVID-19 is rampant, and the data are underestimated and will continue to be underestimated. The world will be shown the developing, prosperous Crimea with a large number of tourists. This is a very important political picture.
