On Wednesday, August 19, activists of the international movement for the de-occupation of Crimea and solidarity with the Crimean Tatar people #LIBERATECRIMEA held an event in the Azov Sea area close to the occupied Crimea, dedicated to the need to protect marine resources from the aggressor state.
Participants noted massive poaching from the occupied Crimea by structures run by Russian criminal groups and controlled by the occupation authorities. They also pointed to the facts of state piracy such as the capture of Ukrainian fishermen in Azov and Syvash by Russian security forces.
In addition, the activists recalled the need to implement the natural rights of the indigenous peoples of Crimea to the living and mineral resources of the Azov and Black Seas, the Syvash and the Kerch Strait, declared in the acts of the Mejlis of 1991 and 2019.
