Eskender Bariiev, the Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, said in an interview with the Espresso TV channel that the invaders illegally detain 168 Crimean political prisoners and about 20 residents of southern Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
“Currently, 168 people are in places of detention, i.e. in captivity and prisons – are Crimean political prisoners. 119 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people,” he stressed.
Eskender Bariiev noted that in southern Ukraine, Russians kidnapped more than 290 people. More than 60 Ukrainians have been released, and the rest are in prisons in the occupied Crimea.
