Lenie Umerova shared news from captivity in a letter. According to her brother, the letters of the political prisoner began to be detained by censors.

This was reported by Lenie’s brother, Aziz Umerov on Facebook.

“Recently there has been less news from Lenie, there is information that the letters began to be delayed by the censors. We finally received a new letter, it opens a window into her life in captivity,” – her brother wrote.

In her letter, Umerova shared parts of her life in the pre-trial detention centre and her daily activities.

“I am still alone in my cell. The previous roommate was taken away, a new one has not been brought in yet. The pre-trial detention centre is mostly male, so maybe she is not here. But I am more comfortable alone, and I have already got used to it. I’ve collected textbooks in the library, I’m learning different things) I’m not watching the news lately, they are more and more “flying into the stratosphere” every day… But I’m watching football,” -Umerova said.

The political prisoner told about how she would like to see and walk together with her family.

“I miss you very much. But these are just difficulties. We will overcome them, not they us! We’ll win! We’ll survive! Together, moulding the best version of us out of the difficulties,” Umerova emphasised.
