We received a letter from Lyudmyla Kolesnikova from the Detention
Center-1 in Simferopol, who is asking for help. Lyudmyla, who came
from Ireland to Yalta for her mother’s funeral, was detained right at
the cemetery because of a donation of 25 euros in support of Ukraine.
This is reported in the Telegram channel that was created in her
support.
In the letter, she notes that she has been in the detention center for
several months in difficult conditions – without hygiene products,
underwear, clothes, and other necessary things. Lyudmyla compares the
situation in her cell to descriptions of camps in Solzhenitsyn’s
books. In addition, she said that her friend witnessed her detention
and asked her to inform her family about the incident, but
unfortunately, he died of starvation.
According to the accusation, she was detained for “providing financial
assistance to Ukraine”. Lyudmyla explains that 25 euros was the amount
she transferred through the Revolut mobile app when she bought two
NFTs.
