Lawyer Aleksey Ladin was disbarred in the occupied Crimea

July 26, 2024
Crimean lawyer Aleksey Ladin was stripped of his licence to practice law.

The reason for this decision were two administrative cases initiated against the lawyer in 2023 for publications in the social network Facebook.

‘As for my defendants – I will continue to defend them. Those cases that are already in  the court – I will act as a defence counsel, together with the lawyer.  We will not be able to be  at the investigation, –  said  Aleksey Ladin in a commentary to  “Suspilne”.

This is the fourth case of deprivation of the status of a lawyer on the territory of the occupied Crimea for the defence of political prisoners and prisoners of war.

‘This is persecution for his professional activities. Everyone knows that   Aleksey Ladin   conducts high-profile criminal cases, which involve the federal security services, accuse people in articles on extremism and terrorism. Now Ladin defends Ukrainian prisoners of war’, – commented the lawyer Emil Kurbedinov, reports “Crimean solidarity”.
