August 15, 2023

On Monday, July 14, the manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Liudmila Korotkykh, took part in the Global Youth Consultation as part of the Human Rights 75 initiative.

During her speech, Liudmyla noted the importance of respecting human rights, including the collective rights of indigenous peoples, because one of the opportunities for Russia to start a war was not the implementation of the rights of indigenous peoples in Ukraine.

In addition, the expert highlighted the situation with human rights violations in the occupied Crimea and the situation in which the indigenous Crimean Tatar people found themselves.

“Speaking about the future of human rights, only full respect for human rights can ensure sustainable peace and be a fuse for conflicts in the future, and the responsibility of young people is to become the driving force that will promote this”,- said Liudmyla.

The outcome of the consultations will be the Youth Declaration of Human Rights 75.
