From 50 to 100 Ukrainians abducted by Russian occupiers from the occupied territories are kept in Crimean prisons temporarily under the control of the occupiers. This was reported by the Russian edition of the Agency.

According to the Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov, at the end of November there were about 10 women in the pre-trial detention center and up to 60 men who have been there since March. Lawyer Aleksey Ladin told the Agency about a hundred of those being held.

“Some of them are accused by the FSB of terrorism, but the Ukrainian side considers them prisoners of war. Others have not been charged and are being held on the grounds that they resisted a special military operation”,- lawyers representing the detainees said.

For all the time, out of all the detainees, about 8 people were released.

“They don’t understand why they were detained and why they were later released”,- the lawyer said.

There are two categories of Ukrainians in this institution: those who fled from the fighting to the territory of Russia and were detained, and those who were brought to the Simferopol pre-trial detention center from the occupied territory of Ukraine. Both categories are accused by the Russian occupiers in connection with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
