Jehovah’s Witnesses sentenced in Yalta

On Monday, February 27, the organizers and activists of the Jehovah’s Witnesses cell in Yalta were sentenced. They were sentenced to terms of 3 to 6 years in a general regime colony.

As stated in the case file, five people who are part of the cell Jehovah’s Witnesses organized meetings and lectures in private homes, where they accepted donations from citizens. In 2021, all were arrested except for one who is still wanted.

Following the consideration of the case, the Yalta city court found the defendants guilty of extremist activities.

“Three organizers were sentenced to various terms of punishment – from 6 years 6 months to 6 years 1 month, who will serve in a general regime correctional colony. Also, upon the expiration of the specified period, they were assigned a restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year. An active member of the group was sentenced by the court to a sentence of three years of suspended imprisonment with a similar probationary period”,- the message says.

It is likely that the defendants are: Kuzio Daria, Kuzio Taras, Lyulin Sergey and Zhiltsov Petr, but this is unconfirmed information and requires verification.
