On January 28, 1992, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Resolution On the approval of the National Flag as the State Flag of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that after the start of the occupation of Crimea, the last flag of Ukraine was lowered only 8 months later – from the administrative building of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, when the occupiers seized the building of the representative body of the Crimean Tatars.
There were several attempts to tear the flag from the building by armed people in balaclavas, but employees of the Crimea Fund and activists of the Crimean Tatar national movement defended the state symbol of Ukraine for 8 months.
We believe and know that soon the flag of Ukraine will again loom in all corners of our state!
