Ivan Yatskin was probably sent to the detention chamber again

June 2, 2023

Political prisoner Ivan Yatskin was apparently sent back to the detention chamber after a meeting with his wife Hulnara Kadyrova. This was reported by the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin with reference to Yatskin’s wife.

The meeting took place in correctional colony 44 in the town of Belovo in the Kemerovo Region.

“Ivan was closed in the detention chamber after a meeting with his relatives, because he did not get in touch after that. Hulnara makes this assumption due to the fact that Ivan regularly ends up in a  punishment cell for, so to speak, educational purposes. Yatskin suffers from harassment in the colony, because he says what he thinks, constantly emphasizes his innocence and fabrication of his case”,- the message says.

We remind you that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was tramsferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin’s lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case. On May 21, the so-called Supreme Court of the occupied Crimea announced the verdict to political prisoner Ivan Yatskin. The occupants assigned him 11 years in a strict regime colony with one year’s restriction of freedom.
