An analyst at the American think tank Center for European Policy Analysis believes that Ukraine’s path to victory lies only through Crimea.
“For Ukraine, the path to victory lies through Crimea. This is the key. This is the decisive area. The liberation of Crimea this year will change everything in this war. We must focus on helping Ukraine liberate Crimea; this should be the main effort when using power savings in the east to slow down/stop Russian ground attacks. Ukraine knows that it will never be safe as long as Russia occupies the peninsula”,- he explained.
Observers of the American magazine Washington Examiner also believe that Crimea will decide the outcome of the war in Ukraine.
“Until the stalemate in Crimea is broken, these bloody World War I-style fighting further east in the Donbas will continue to prevent Ukraine from winning this war. The real Ukrainian threat in Crimea is changing this dynamic, crossing the Kremlin-imposed red line and putting Putin on the heels”,- they stressed.
