Today, October 2, the Military Court of Appeal of the Russian Federation upheld Ismet Ibrahimov’s sentence unchanged. Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov told Crimean Solidarity about this.
The human rights activist noted that the Russian court removed from the case information about the interrogation of the parents during the trial.
“Ismet Ibrahimov himself drew attention to the fact that the verdict itself indicated that his parents were interrogated during the court hearing. However, they were not questioned during the trial. This fact once again demonstrates how such sentences are fabricated”,- Kurbedinov emphasized.
During the announcement of his last word, the political prisoner said that his fabricated case is based only on persecuting active people for their position and religious views.
“This is repression against the Crimean Tatars”,- emphasized Ismet Ibrahimov.
We remind you that on July 7, Russian security forces conducted mass searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchysarai, Krasnohvardiiske and Simferopol districts of the occupied Crimea. Seven people have been detained. All were taken to the FSB headquarters in Simferopol. On July 7, the so-called Kyiv district court of Simferopol sent Oleksandr Syzykov, a disabled person of the first group, under house arrest. On July 8, the so-called Kyiv district court of the occupied Crimea chose a measure of restraint for Ismet Ibrahimov, Zekirya Muratov, Vadym Bektemyrov, Emil Ziyadynov, Alim Sufyinov and Seyran Khairetdynov in the form of detention.
