In the first half of 2024, 92 arrests were recorded in the occupied Crimea – CTRC

In the first half of 2024, 92 cases of arrests were recorded, 46 of them – in relation to the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. For the same period in 2023, 140 were recorded (93 against Crimean Tatars), and in 2022 , 67 (55 against Crimean Tatars).

Out of 92 arrests: 21 convictions, 34 new arrests, 7 administrative arrests and 30 cases of extension of detention.

We shall remind you that earlier the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre presented the Analysis of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea for the first half of 2024. According to the organisation, 51 searches, 71 detentions/arrests and 63 cases of interrogations, interviews and ‘conversations’ were recorded during the reporting period. The total number of arrests for the first half of 2024 is 92.
