In the temporarily occupied Sudak, officers of the so-called traffic police stopped a car driven by 38-year-old Arsen Suleimanov. Instead of the Russian flag, his license plate displayed the Crimean Tatar flag. This was reported by the occupation media.
The driver was charged under Article 12.2, Part 1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation, and the car was sent to an impound lot until the “violation was eliminated.”
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center condemns such actions by the occupying authorities. Their harsh measures are not simply a fight against “violations,” but an attempt to suppress any manifestation of identity and resistance. The imposition of unjustified fines and detention is part of a repressive machine that leaves no room for freedom and dignity in occupied Crimea.
