A resident of Henichesk is going to be tried for allegedly participating in an armed formation banned in Russia. The occupation Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this in the Kherson region in its Telegram channel.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, this is Crimean Tatar Nariman Abliazov, who was detained on September 4, 2023.

“The investigation established that from 2014 to 2015, the accused voluntarily joined and participated in an armed formation operating on the territory of Ukraine, whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation. During the specified period of time, the defendant from the building materials store he owned supplied goods free of charge to equip the base of the prohibited battalion, which was located near the Chonhar checkpoint. The man also provided a hotel he owned in the city of Genichesk free of charge  to accommodate the leaders of the illegal movement”,- the report says.

According to the occupation Investigative Committee, a local resident selected people to participate in it, persuaded taxi drivers to freely transport battalion members from their places of residence to  stand guard in the village of Chonhar. In addition, in 2014, he allegedly blocked the passage of cars that delivered consumer goods to Crimea, thereby damaging the economic and political interests of Russian citizens and creating a threat to the national security of the Russian Federation.

The defendant admitted his guilt. The indictment was sent to the court for consideration on the merits under Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of an illegal armed group or participation in it). He faces up to 15 years in prison with probation for up to two years.

We remind you that Nariman Abliazov is 50 years old and has three children. In fact, he was an entrepreneur, engaged in the hotel business and had nothing to do with the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion.

At the beginning of the occupation of Genichesk, the occupiers detained the wife of Nariman Abliazov and held her for some time in the basement of school No. 17. Later the woman was released, but the occupiers did not leave the family alone.
