Nearly for the first time in the occupied Crimea they arranged an All-Russian women’s congress where they discussed ‘the role of Muslim women in preserving inter-ethnic unity and strengthening patriotism in the Russian federation’. This was reported by the Russian media.
The report says that the congress was organized with the support of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea and Akyar (Sevastopol). The Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education and the occupation Miniform of the Republic also helped in the organization. Participants arrived to the occupied Crimea for the so-called ‘religious’ event from different regions of Russia.
The Crimean Tatar Resource Center believes that this is another method of spreading Russian propaganda on the territory of Crimea. Religious motives are indicated here as a cover and a way to placate the participants. In turn, the Russian Federation has no rights to hold such events on the territory of the occupied Crimea.
