On Friday, May 12, the Armiansk City Court of Crimea sentenced a 36-year-old citizen of Ukraine to five years in a strict regime colony on charges of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion.
“It has been established that in 2015 a man voluntarily joined the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion (banned in the Russian Federation). The Ukrainian in the period from 2015 to 2017 took an active part in the activities of the illegal armed formations”,- the occupiers say.
The FSB reports that in the battalion the defendant performed the duties of checking persons and vehicles at checkpoints on the state border with Ukraine, and also guarded the facilities of an illegal armed group.
