On Monday, March 13, in the occupied Crimea, a 39-year-old man was arrested for allegedly active participation in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion.
According to the FSB, in 2016 the man voluntarily joined the formation.
“The suspect took an active part in the activities of illegal armed formations. At the same time, having a real opportunity to voluntarily withdraw from its composition, he did not apply to law enforcement agencies with a statement about this, thereby continuing his criminal activities to participate in the battalion”,- the FSB said in a statement.
The arrested person faces up to 15 years in prison.
Recall that since 2014, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center has recorded 25 arrests on charges of participation in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion: 10 in the occupied Crimea, 15 in the occupied Kherson region after February 24, 2022.
