Fuel prices in Crimea continue to rise

November 13, 2024

Despite the promises of the Russia-controlled Crimean administration to curb price increases, the cost of fuel on the peninsula continues to rise. This is reported by a correspondent of Krym.Realii.

The report says that over the past two months, prices for some types of fuel have increased by two rubles. Compared to August 2023, the price increase for some types of fuel exceeded 11 rubles per liter.

At the end of October, representatives of the international civil campaign #LiberateCrimea noted that gasoline prices in Crimea had been rising every day for more than two weeks. The last sharp increase was recorded in August, when the price of popular A95 gasoline rose from 64 to 66.5 rubles per liter.

Activists attribute the price hike to strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces on the fuel infrastructure of the Russian Federation, which has significantly affected supplies to the peninsula.
