The Darnitskiy district court in Kyiv has sentenced the former head of the Kerch city department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea to 11 years.

According to the CJI, the convicted is Mykola Tkachenko: he headed the Kerch department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine since April 2010, but in spring 2014 switched to the side of Russia and subsequently was employed in the “Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the rf in the city of Kerch”.
Tkachenko was found guilty of treason. He was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The sentence was announced in absentia.
