Dmitry Ovsyannikov, the former governor of Aqyar (Sevastopol), was detained by the British authorities. “The Times” newspaper reports this.
According to the British prosecutor’s office, he was detained on suspicion of violating sanctions legislation: he is accused of circumventing sanctions and opening an account in a British bank, as well as four payments totaling 65 thousand pounds sterling and storing 77.5 thousand pounds sterling in cash, with that the UK authorities imposed sanctions against him back in 2020.
