In the first 9 months of 2024, Russian security forces placed Crimean
political prisoners in punishment cells, special blocks and solitary
confinement at least 16 times. This is stated in the Analysis of human
rights violations in Crimea by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
In particular, such offenses were committed in relation to: Server Zekiryayev (3), Server Mustafayev (2), Teymur Abdullayev, Eskender Abdulganiev (2),
Ali Mamutov, Oleg Prykhodko, Seyran Saliiev, Serhiy Tsygipa, Edem
Smailov, Marlen Asanov, Rustem Gugurik and Remzi Bekirov.
In fact, the practice of placing Crimean political prisoners in
pre-trial detention centers is already widespread and does not cause
any surprise. This trend began to be actively manifested in 2020. The
occupiers continue to put pressure on our compatriots in order to
“break” and subdue them.
It is important not to keep silent about these cases, but to record
and talk about them.
