A year ago, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Sirens, bomb shelters, shelling, explosions, lack of light, water, heat are the realities of each of us.
During all this time, the Russian military in Ukraine has been deliberately destroying civilian infrastructure: schools, kindergartens, hospitals, residential buildings, shopping centers, etc.; shoot refugees; seize and rob humanitarian convoys; engage in looting; kill, kidnap and illegally evacuate Ukrainian children; destroy monuments of cultural heritage and the like.
During the year of a full-scale war, the Russian army fired more than 5,000 missiles and carried out almost 3,500 airstrikes throughout Ukraine. As a result of such actions, thousands of people died, and millions of Ukrainians were forced to leave their place of residence and move to safer cities/villages. Now in Ukraine, the status of internally displaced persons has already been officially received by 4.8 million citizens, and more than 14 million people have left abroad.
It was a difficult year, but it should be recalled that the war in Ukraine began back in 2014, when the Russian Federation illegally occupied the Ukrainian Crimea. For more than 9 years, the inhabitants of the peninsula have been forced to live in new realities. Opponents of the Russian government have been and continue to be subjected to terrible persecution and harassment. Unfortunately, this practice continues in the newly occupied territories of Ukraine.
However, in spite of everything, we continue to hold the defense and resist. With each new day we bring our victory closer!
In 2022-2023, the Ukrainian military liberated 40% of the territories occupied after February 24 and 28% of all occupied territories. During this period, more than 145,000 Russian military personnel were liquidated, more than 21,000 units of enemy military equipment were destroyed.
This war, which has been going on for 9 years, has made us stronger, more resilient and more courageous. Imagine, in just a matter of hours, we are raising huge funds for a new drone or bayraktar. During this time, we have become a united front that continuously continues the struggle for the freedom and independence of our country!
Thanks to every soldier who defends Ukraine on the front line, thanks to everyone who strengthens the defense and provides Ukrainian soldiers with everything they need, thanks to all the activists who are fighting for our country in the rear!
Together we will win!
Glory to Ukraine!
