On Saturday, 14 September, Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, took part in the Public Leaders Forum: United for Victory.
Within the framework of panel discussions, the challenges and opportunities for sustainable development of volunteering, integration of veterans and reintegration of citizens in the temporarily occupied territories, development of local democracy and involvement of citizens in the process of rebuilding communities were discussed.
In particular, Eskender Bariiev joined the panel discussion: ‘Strategies for reintegration and work with citizens in the temporarily occupied territories’. He spoke about the mission and areas of work of the CTRC:
- ensuring the collective rights of the Crimean Tatar people and individual rights of Ukrainian citizens;
- monitoring and documenting human rights violations and rf war crimes on the territory of Ukraine;
- development of drafts of normative acts of Ukraine;
- supporting cultural and educational initiatives;
- monitoring and analysing the components of sustainable development in Crimea;
- implementation of information and awareness-raising activities.
