Political prisoners Eldar Kantimirov and Tymur Yalkabov have been kept in a punishment cell for a month now. It is reported by the Suspilne Crimea media agency.
A few months ago, both political prisoners were transferred to a prison in Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region. Kantimirov’s wife, Elvina Useinova, said her appeals were not helping to improve the situation.
“As soon as one term expires, they are immediately extended under various pretexts. I wrote to the public monitoring commission, the prosecutor’s office, they came, but there was no relief”,- said she.
She also noted that now they are treated cruelly as citizens of Ukraine. Her husband, Eldar Kantimirov, noted that this was an FSB order directly against Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian citizens.
“They were interrogated several times about the citizens of which state they consider themselves to be, whose Crimea. They always unambiguously express their position”,- said the wife of the political prisoner.
We remind you that on March 22, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don announced the verdict to Tymur Yalkabov. He was sentenced to 17 years in prison with the first 4 years in prison.
On August 16, 2021, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Eldar Kantimirov to 12 years in prison.
On February 9, Tymur Yalkabov was taken to the ShIZO for 12 days, and on February 22, Eldar Kantimirov was also placed there.
