Political prisoner Dzhemil Gafarov, sentenced to 13 years in prison, is denied a medical examination. It is reported by the Crimean Solidarity.
From Gafarov’s lawyer, Emil Kurbedinov, it became known that the condition of the political prisoner is constantly deteriorating.
“He says that he is very ill, he has seizures twice a day; yesterday they took blood from him for tests, barely, although he reminded them several times and for the second day the blood has not been taken to the laboratory (the building is nearby). He says that they are trying to give some medicines, but in order to drink them, he needs a doctor’s consultation about the kidneys, he has kidney failure, and what they give from the heart can affect the kidneys. He doesn’t even get up”,- Kurbedinov said.
Jemil Gafarov believes that they are not going to provide him with treatment and that this is a sign that he will be transported.
“Whether I will survive at the transferring or not is unclear. How will they be transported for months? It will be very difficult to travel”,- Gafarov was quoted by the Crimean Solidarity as saying.
In 2017, before the initiation of criminal proceedings, the man suffered a significant myocardial infarction. In the same year, he was diagnosed with chronic renal failure with impaired filtration of the kidneys. The political prisoner needs regular kidney dialysis, which is impossible to carry out in a pre-trial detention center.
Recall that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, in violation of international humanitarian law, on January 11, 2023, announced sentences to five citizens of Ukraine, representatives of the Crimean Tatar people Alim Karimov, Seyran Murtaza, Erfan Osmanov, Dzhemil Gafarov and Servet Gaziev.
