“I recently learned that during the last such ‘passionate interrogation’ conducted in January 2026, Anatoly was injured — he suffered a fracture of his left arm with displacement of the wrist,” – Bariiev emphasized.
He noted that, as a surgeon by first education, he knows that such fractures usually require repositioning or surgery. Surgery in such conditions is out of the question. We have information that he was put in a plaster cast, which was supposed to be removed on January 29. However, this was only done on February 9.
“In other words, they put on a cast, and that’s a great ‘achievement’. This is how they extract the necessary testimony, and if you don’t agree, you will be broken both morally and physically,”- the human rights activist noted.
Anatoliy is accused of “treason.” According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he faces up to 20 years in prison. According to the criminal case file, Anatoliy allegedly photographed the locations of air defense systems in Crimea and directly in the city of Akyar (Sevastopol) and passed the data on to Ukrainian intelligence.
He recalled that Anatoly Kobzar, who was abducted on March 5, 2024, was held in special blocks and pre-trial detention centers in Crimea. For more than 17 months, the man was held incommunicado and had no opportunity to call his relatives and inform them of his whereabouts.
