On Tuesday, January 24, at a government meeting, a resolution was adopted On Ensuring the Implementation by Foreign Diplomatic Institutions of Ukraine of Powers in the Sphere of State Registration of Civil Status Acts under Martial Law.
The importance of this decision was emphasized by the lawyer of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Volodymyr Liashenko. He previously drew the attention of officials to this issue during the work of the Coordinating Headquarters on ensuring the departure of Ukrainian citizens from the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
Thanks to the new decree, citizens of Ukraine will be able to receive copies of birth, death, marriage certificates from diplomatic and consular offices abroad, information about which is in the state registry office.
