On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people submitted to the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience the second package of documents on securing the legal status of Mejlis as a representative body of the Crimean Tatar people.
“We have taken the second step to consolidate the Legal Status of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people”,- said Eskender Bariiev, Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, member of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
The documents were submitted in accordance with paragraph 6 of clause 5 of the Procedure for securing the legal status of the representative body of the indigenous people of Ukraine and depriving it of such status, approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 936 dated August 19, 2022.
