January 19, 2023

Dmytro Zakharov, abducted by the occupiers in June 2022 in the city of Henichesk, Kherson region, is being held in a new pre-trial detention center in Simferopol.

According to the Crimean Human Rights Group, Zakharov was detained on suspicion of damaging the security of the Russian Federation during the SMO, and that the person is in conditions that exclude a threat to life and health.

We remind you that in June Dmitry Zakharov was illegally detained near a grocery store. On July 24, 2022, information appeared in the Russian media that the FSB had detained a man who allegedly sent messages to the Russian military on the orders of the SBU.

The opening of the pre-trial detention center where Zakharov is being held has not been officially announced by the Russian authorities. It became known thanks to Ukrainian human rights activists.
