Dilyaver Gafarov, accused of involvement in the Noman Çelebicihan Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion was put in a punishment cell in Stavropol. It is reported by the Crimean solidarity.
“Now he is on the territory of the Russian Federation in correctional colony 1 of the Stavropol Territory, the village of Kochubeevskoye, and spent almost half of the appointed term”,- said the wife of the political prisoner, Diliara Gafarova.
On April 4, Gafarov contacted her via the Zonatelecom prison connection and said that he was being transferred to the Detention chamber for five days. Later, his cellmate reported that Gafarov’s sentence had been extended for another 10 days. The reason for moving the political prisoner to the Detention chamber is unknown.
In addition, it is known that Detention chambers do not have the opportunity to observe the Muslim fast for the month of Ramadan: it is forbidden to eat and sleep outside the approved routine.
“They said that because of some checks. It is unfair to keep a fasting person in detention chamber”,- commented the political prisoner’s wife.
We remind you that on October 30, 2018, Russian security forces came with a search to the house of Dilyaver Gafarov in the village of Zhemchuzhyna, Crimea, Kirovs District. The security forces searched for weapons, but found nothing. After the search, the young man was allegedly taken to the Simferopol detention center. Dilyaver Gafarov was detained on suspicion of a crime under Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation Participation in an armed formation not provided for by federal law, as well as participation in the territory of a foreign state in an armed formation not provided for by the legislation of this state, for the purpose of contradicting the interests of the Russian Federation .
On August 28, the Kirov District Court of Crimea sentenced Dilyaver Gafarov, accused of participating in an illegal armed formation under part 2 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
