CTRC congratulates Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in presidential elections

May 30, 2023

The Crimean Tatar Resource Center sincerely congratulates the entire Turkish people and Recep Erdogan on his victory in the presidential elections.

Recall that on Sunday, May 28, the second round of elections took place in Turkey, in which the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won. He received 52.16% support, while his opponent won almost 48% of the vote.

This victory demonstrates that, firstly, Turkey is not an authoritarian country, as various media and political scientists tried to show it. After all, we have elections in two rounds, and the difference in votes between opponents is minimal.

Secondly, that there will be no political crisis in Turkey, since the Turkish Parliament has a majority of elected deputies who support the current President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

It should be noted that the choice of the Turkish people is important for Ukraine as a whole, because all these years Turkey has a clear position to preserve the sovereignty of Ukraine, and from the first days of Russia’s aggression has supported Ukraine both at the diplomatic and military levels.

We look forward to further strengthening the strategic partnership and maintaining Turkey’s unwavering support in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
