Crimean Tatar Day to be held at Molodist Film Festival in Kyiv

A separate day dedicated to Crimean Tatar culture will be held at the
53rd Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist in Kyiv. The audience
will be presented with the film “ Her Prayer” by Akhtem
Seitablaev. The screening is scheduled for October 30 at 14:00 in the
Cinema House. This was reported on the page of the Crimean House on
Facebook.

The audience will be presented with the film “ Her  Prayer”
directed by Akhtem Seitablaev. The film is based on real events that
took place in Crimea during the German occupation of World War II.

In addition, a panel discussion “Memory and Future: Crimea in Cinema
and Culture, the Story of Return”. “The discussion is dedicated to the
significant role of Crimea in cinema, art and cultural heritage of
Ukraine. The participants are well-known Crimean Tatar artists and
journalists who will reveal the importance of cinema and culture as
tools for preserving national heritage and a true picture of Crimea in
the context of the information and cultural war,”- the statement said.

Visitors to the film festival will also be able to see the Crimean
Identity exhibition, which will feature national costumes and jewelry
of the Crimean Tatars of the 19th century. The collection was created
as part of the Path/Yol project in 2021, curated by artist and
ceramist Rustem Skibin.

In addition, an exhibition of paintings illustrating the churches of
Crimea and recreating the events of 1944, when Crimean Tatars were
deported from their homeland, is planned.
