A Crimean citizen who studied in the Kharkiv region is suspected of voluntary service in the Russian Marine Corps. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office and the representative of the Kharkiv Security Service, Vladyslav Abdula.
“From March to September 2022, the man was in the Kupiansk district, filtering residents and identifying spies and partisans. Subsequently, ihe was transferred to the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, but due to the large number of objectors and losses, they were returned to Crimea for replenishment. In January 2023, he again tried to capture Kupiansk and Kharkiv”,- Abdula noted.
According to him, in 2008, the person involved in the case studied at the Mala Danylivka Lyceum in the Kharkiv region. Afterwards he entered a university in Odesa, which he quitted himself in 2014.
“In 2019, he signed a contract for military service in the coastal forces of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, in the Marine Corps brigade”,- the regional prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The issue of putting the suspect on the wanted list is now being decided. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
