Crimean political prisoner Yashar Muedinov’s health condition has significantly deteriorated

August 19, 2024

Crimean Tatar Yashar Muedinov, who was imprisoned for 13 years on politically motivated charges, has got swelling of his legs. This was reported by ‘Crimean Solidarity’ public association.

Yashar himself is holding up and tries not to complain about the deterioration of his health condition. In the prison in Dimitrovgrad, where the political prisoner is now located, medical care is not provided to him, as the period of consideration of complaints about the deterioration of health is unknown.

We remind that on 24 November 2022, Yashar Muedinov, together with Ruslan Suleymanov, Enver Ametov, Rustem Sheikhaliev and Osman Arifmemetov were sentenced to long prison terms on politically motivated charges of ‘terrorist activity and attempted seizure of power’. All those convicted are civic activists and have not pleaded guilty.
